Where do you watch TV?

TV has been commercially available since 1920's. Since, it became part of people's everyday life, as a source of entertainment and news. Therefore, every household owned a TV set and it was usually placed on the living room, meaning that it was an important device for the family. Later on, due to its large reach brands were interested in advertising their products on this screen and so they did. In consequence TV became the preferred medium for brands and advertisers. Still, today it is the first screen of reference for advertisers and people. However, with the development of new screens, will TV keep on being #1?

It would seem impossible for people to change their habits of watching TV on a TV SET. However, the trends show the contrary. According to Nielsen the number of US households with television decreased by over a million last year. So, are people watching less TV? Actually, TV viewing itself has increased, but people are using other devices to watch TV; such as smartphones, computers, tablets, the internet, etc. It might be possible to conclude that TV watching habits are changing and that therefore the TV habits of advertising, producing and distributing are changing too, as new channels for delivering content are emerging.

In the end what seems to matter is not the device you use to watch TV, but the content that is delivered through it, thus content is king... so, where do yo watch TV?
